2024 and I started to inventory the Magpie Pile (“Oh Shiny!“) in the basement in the spirit of “Can Do, Sort out the Loose Ends, Make a Fresh Start!” then quickly switched to the easier and less daunting task of re-arranging the queue on the painting table.

That New Year’s Resolution Determination is firing on all cylinders, eh?

Weird and Wonderful

First up are some delightfully twisted fantasy minis from KnuckleBones Miniatures. Digitally sculpted resin prints, if you need some cool, old-school style minis for Forbidden Psalm/Mork Borg, Mordheim, an OSR Dungeon Crawl, or even a few games of Nightwatch Blood and Bone, you might have found what you’re looking for.

Loads of character, easy to paint, I highly recommend them.

Prepping for the Zone

The ever-excellent Anvil Industry has been a solid supporter of Zona Alfa from the start and they were kind enough to send a few of their latest prints. These are perfect for ongoing Zone firefights, or cooperative Deep Zone runs, if that’s more your style. Whether it’s new recruits from the Stalls or extra hostiles in those high Threat Level areas, you need some of these.

Crisp, clean prints – Modular minis with a huge variety of weapon and gear options – Easily customizable – Anvil is another company I recommend without reservation.

Looking Ahead

The Cape Cod Wargame Commission will be embarking on a new schedule of monthly sessions, starting with a five-part Nightwatch campaign set in a mythical, mystical Arabian-flavored world. So siroccos, scimitars, scorpions, and sorcery will feature heavily here at S7 for the next few months.

Oh, and if you haven’t seen this yet, now you know. When Nightmares Come is slated for release late April, 2024, so you’ve got plenty of time to scrounge up a team of modern monster hunters to face the hordes of malevolent gribblies lurking in the shadows. Good luck.
