An open-setting, miniature-agnostic rule set made for cooperative games, Raid and Ruin is solo and beginner-friendly, offers advancements for narrative, campaign play, and can be run in an afternoon.

Five painted miniatures of fantasy characters standing on a textured surface, with intricate scenery and ruins in the background.

Ready-Made Adversaries
Raid and Ruin has a menu of Mix-n-Match traits for players who want to make their own enemies. It also offers ready-to-go force lists for four common fantasy baddies: The Crawling Brood – The Restless Dead – The Rot-Eye Tribes – The Black Hand.

Each faction has troop types separated by Tier, with distinct Traits and Behaviors to make them easy to run on the table. Grab your preferred category of evil minis, print out the stat page, and you’re ready.

Raid and Ruin is meant to be an accessible and affordable way to introduce players to fantasy tabletop skirmishes. Particularly players familiar with RPGs but not miniature wargaming. The rules are easy to learn, simple to teach, and have enough flavor to transform the miniatures into unique heroes working together on dangerous missions, not just anonymous soldiers lost in the ranks.

With illustrations by Auriane Lens and Daulet Karazhigitov, Raid and Ruin weighs in at a compact 55 pages. Read it in an afternoon. Run your first game that night. If more than four players show up, simply bump up the number of enemies that spawn each turn. With escalating threats, clear objectives, and definite turn limit, games are tense, bloody, and memorable. Your Hunters might not survive the mission, but your players won’t soon forget the game.

That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Can I ask, has this replaced the Nightwatch Blood and Bone book

    1. Hi Terry.
      Thanks for stopping by.
As mentioned in an earlier post, Raid and Ruin is another option. A variation on a theme.
It sets aside the narrative element and focuses on combat. Pact size and composition is clearly defined. Missions have objectives and turn limits.
There’s a selection of ready-made adversaries. If anything, it’s a streamlined upgrade to the original ‘NW Terror and Treasure‘
Let me know if you have any further questions.
      Good Hunting.
