Despite Real Life intruding on valuable Hobby Time, gaming continues here at the S7 Nerd Shack Bunker.
Symbaroum

I’m running sessions for both the CCWC and the Sturgis Crew. As you know, I’m a big fan of Free League’s system and the setting, and it’s a real pleasure to dive back into the dark mysteries of Davokar. Doubly so, since this is a first for several of the Sturgis players and I’m glad to have such an engaging world and easy system to offer.
These are separate campaigns, but both groups are in the capital city, Yndaros, at the moment, so whether they’re in the slums or in a mansion, there’s conspiracy, intrigue, and danger around every corner. (And they’re nowhere near the forest yet.)
Kid’s Game
Had the distinct privilege of introducing miniature wargaming to five young adventurers the other day. A friend brought his two sons and three of their friends to the shop for the afternoon. Together, they braved the haunted city of Harrowgate, trying to open a magic portal that would end a terrible war.
Laid out a full table and loads of painted minis, ratcheting up the Coolness Quotient as high as possible. There was carnage and laughter, so I guess it worked. Although, I wager snacks, drinks, and pizza helped a lot.
Rumor has it they’re anxious to come back next month. So that’s good.

New Game in Development
On the writing front, I’ve been hammering out a new game. Had one of those moments where a sudden mass of inspiration surfaced in my head and I ended up with dozens upon dozens of pages of notes. I’m working my way through the trove now, sorting all the ideas into a coherent form. I enjoy what I do, writing fiction and making tabletop games, but I haven’t been this inspired in a while.
SCRAPJACKS will be a game about deep space salvagers working the derelict ships, the abandoned stations, and alien ruins on the fringes of colonized space. Solo/cooperative, miniature agnostic, open setting. I’m building terrain and painting minis for imminent test games. More as that develops.

That’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by. Have an excellent day.
