The Abbey at Blackwold Castle

The Abbey at Blackwold Castle is a mission pack for Nightwatch – Terror and Treasure in the Dark Corners of the World. Designed for beginner level players, five Nightwatch hunters investigate a series of mysterious disappearances near the lands of a disgraced noble. Their search leads them to the ruins of a crumbling abbey on the abandoned estate, and the family crypts beneath.

This mini-campaign includes five optional player-characters, a list of suggested enemies and their stats, and background briefs and table lay-out examples for each game. Linked in a narrative arc, these games can be run individually over a number of sessions, or perhaps in a single, tense day of crypt-crawling and monster-hunting.

The Abbey at Blackwold Castle incorporates a few elements from the upcoming Nightwatch Blood and Bone; increased emphasis on narrative, latitude for guided/GM’d missions, story-related mission objectives, monster traits to flavor Dark Spawn enemies, which in turn reduces the amount required per game but increases lethality, new gear enhancements and salvage rules, and a smaller game area.

It doesn’t represent the full extent of the changes coming in Blood and Bone, but it’s a taste of what I hope will be my small if solid take on a simple, fast-play ‘Tactical RPG’.

Have an excellent day.

    1. Thank you very much. Glad you enjoy it.
Stay in touch and I’ll send you a beta of Blood and Bone when it’s ready.

      1. Not that it matters but on the first map, stairwell has a minor spelling issue. Loving the fact that I need less minis for this and it’s a nice touch giving the total mini count on the “what you’ll need” section.

      2. Good catch. Thanks. And here I thought I’d caught all the typos…
Mini Count: glad that helped. I’m adding that to all my game-related projects from now on.
