Mission: Keihin Infiltration

Been busy with work and writing, but we tried our first game of Fistful of Kung Fu last Tues eve. Two operatives (with drone support) were tasked with infiltrating Sumitomo Industries Compound. Their objectives were to sabotage the fueling station and the executive VTOL.  S.I. Security was composed of a security specialist, a Mantis drone, and four standard rent-a-cops.

Going against superior numbers, the operatives were pretty buffed and as Matt and Derek each controlled one, they were considered ‘Protagonists’ for the reaction mechanism. On the Sumitomo side, the specialist was the lead figure.

Here are some shots:

As this was our first game, we spent some time checking the rule book to make sure we got everything right. (we didn’t) Even with that it was a fun game. The changing initiative and protagonist reactions kept the flow of play interesting and unpredictable. Despite being outnumbered the operatives dominated the game, taking both objectives while the poor cops bumbled around. The Sumitomo Specialist was tooled up but he got his head handed to him in melee twice and finally stayed down. Perhaps I buffed the operatives a bit too much.

Scrounged up some inexpensive rule books on eBay, so we’ll all be able to familiarize ourselves with the basics and nuances.
