Coming Soon: Smuggler’s Neck

It includes details for both Narrative and Tactical portions for a six mission narrative campaign, along with five pre-generated Hunter characters and suggestions for numerous Dark Spawn adversaries.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a supplement for

  1. Exciting!

Are there Dark Spawn tropes for the “Smugglers Neck” campaign that are particularly well thematically suited to it? I’m getting an Innsmouth vibe, but maybe that isn’t the intention.

Are there any specific, set-piece terrain or other elements that might increase the fun/immersion while playing through the campaign, that you are happy to share?

    Fish processing factory elements maybe?
    A smugglers boat perhaps?
A place where icthyosapiens might gather to discuss their common dislike of outsiders?

A friend really wants to run this game in a Lovecraftian, Cthulhu style early 20th century setting, and is excited about getting his 3D printer going, so I thought that I would ask 🙂

If you can’t/won’t share that info at this stage, then that’s perfectly OK too. No pressure 🙂

    1. Ah… sorry. No Innsmouth connection.
Smuggler’s Neck, emphasis on ‘neck’. And bats. And bat-related… things.
Most of the SN scenario settings are run-down urban locations. Back alleys, empty parks, abandoned subway stations. I was trying to minimize any terrain requirements.
That said, one wouldn’t be amiss if their scenery were more obviously dock/waterfront specific.

FWIW, eldritch creatures will feature in April’s Case File, ‘The oldest and strongest kind.’ The modern setting can certainly be adjusted for early 20th century, traditional CoC. I want to see how WNC is received before I drop supplements/campaigns.

      Have a good one.

  2. I’m more prepared for neck and bat related scenarios than Lovecraftian anyway 🙂

Thanks for sharing that information. It all goes in the pot during the fun preparation part of the gaming process.

Good luck with the WNC launch!
