Motivated by the Lead Adventure Forum’s Future Wars Painting Club, here are my last two pieces for the moment. Enter an old Rezolution CSO Sergeant and a Nid Carnifex. Both were purchased on eBay.

Great paint jobs! I’ve been working on a modern firearms skirmish ruleset with the Stalker setting in mind, and found your blog while doing research. I’m trying to get my 40k-playing friends to try something different.
Thank you. Stalker is a great setting. One of the coolest, IMO. Shame I haven’t had much time to spare for gaming.
Good luck weaning your friends off 40K. My advice is to set up the coolest-looking yet simple Stalker-style demo game, then play for the mission story rather than the big win.
You want to give your buddies a taste of adventure and challenge using simple, versatile rules. Have you looked into Pulp Alley? Rename Gear and Abilities with Post Apoc flavor, and you can run it straight out of the book.

I’ve run across mentions of pulp alley, I’ll check it out. I’m pretty dedicated to creating my own ruleset, though. I’m designing it with modularity in mind, so the main rules cover the core mechanics, while a theme module would cover a particular setting, i.e Stalker, Wild West, etc.
I’m all for writing your own. My house rules have gone through several iterations. I’ve found sometimes it’s easier simply to tweak an existing commercial set and give that to my gaming buddies.
